Welcome to the FEd's Gambler Resource page. Here is some basic information regarding gambling addictions and how to seek help for them.
Only you can determine if you really are a compulsive gambler, and only you can take the first step of admitting you need help. A compulsive gambler is often identified as a person whose gambling has caused what GA (Gambler's Anonymous) calls growing and continuing problems in any department of one's life. If this sounds applicable to you, please see the resources below. Another way to assess yourself is to look at GA's 20 Questions page. Most compulsive gamblers will answer yes to at least seven of these questions.
Goddard Health Center
While Goddard does not currently have a gambling specialist on hand, coming in for a consultation would be an important step with your addiction (admitting to someone that you have a problem). There is a $10 fee for the counseling session itself. Please visit Goddard's Counseling Services page for details.
Gambler's Anonymous
Also available to you is this organization, in which the only requirement is a desire to stop gambling. There are no membership dues or fees to take advantage of their support system. Please visit their site: http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/.
